OPPORTUNITIES FOR GRADUATES TO OBTAIN WORK EXPERIENCE

The Department of Local Government is responsible for promoting good governance in municipalities to enhance service delivery and promote participative, integrated, sustainable and empowered communities. The Department invites unemployed graduates/postgraduates between the ages of 18 – 35 years, who are keen to join its dynamic environment, on an Internship Programme for the duration of six (6) to twelve (12) months.

Successful applicants will be offered a monthly stipend based on the following completed qualification levels:

  • Completed (3) three or (4) four-year Degree: R 8 734.95 per month inclusive of tax
  • Completed Honours Degree: R10 847.55 per month inclusive of tax
  • Completed Masters Degree: R12 895.05 per month inclusive of tax

The appointment on an Internship Contract may be awarded subject to undergoing a security clearance and personnel suitability checks, which include verification of qualifications. Shortlisted candidates must be available for interviews at a date and time determined by the Department.
