Applications are invited from unemployed youth who wish to pursue a career in Wood Technology /Wood Processing (Sawmill). The suitable candidates will be granted an opportunity to attend a one year Sawmill Learnership Programme. Learners will be studying and residing at our Sawmill (timber processing plant) Timbadola situated in Levubu within Limpopo Province, to complete both the theoretical and practical component of the Learnership.
Learners will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the learnership. When making the final selection, preference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individuals, People with disabilities, females & Youth from communities adjacent to our plantations and Communities we have signed social compact with.
Upon successful completion of the learnership, learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification: General Education and Training Certificate in Wood Processing (NQF Level 2/3). Learners will gain work experience that will improve their chances of getting employment with Sawmill companies and contractors.
On completion learners who passed matric with Maths and Science will further stand a chance to further their studies at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University to pursue a 3 year National Diploma in Wood Technology through our bursary fund in 2014.
- Must be South African Citizen
- Must be an unemployed youth between 19 to 34 years old
- Must have passed/ completed grade 12
- Must have passed Maths, Biology and Science school subjects
