Introduction
Metropolitan Health is one of the leading administrators in the open and closed medical scheme markets in South Africa. The company provides cost-effective medical scheme administration and managed care solutions for more than two million lives. In a bid to contribute to the alleviation of the skills shortage in South Africa, we have partnered with the Department of Labour in the Monyetla Work Readiness Programme. Monyetla is a Sotho word meaning “opportunity”. Metropolitan Health is recruiting 40 learners for the CapeTown office to start with the programme on 01 August 2012. Applicants should take note of the following. The programme runs over a 14-week period (01 August 2012 – 07 November 2012) focusing on:
- Monyetla Orientation
- Metropolitan Health Corporate Induction
- Customer Services Training
- Claims Practical Training
- Membership and Premiums Training
The Incumbent will be responsible for:
- Achieving the required pass mark for all assessments and portfolio of evidence
- Learning corporate environment technicalities and skills
- Gaining medical administration ability and knowledge
- Achieving predetermined standards and quality levels
- Quality control to ensure error rate is minimised
- Escalating of queries where necessary for further investigation
The applicant should meet these requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics, English, Afrikaans and/or one African language
- South African citizen under 35 years of age
- Available immediately
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Must be currently unemployed and prepared to render services and obtain practical experience
- Must not be on a learnership
- Must not be on full time study
