NERSA is contributing towards youth and skills development in South Africa through its Internship and Learnership Programmes. These Programmes provide an opportunity for unemployed graduates to gain meaningful workplace exposure and to develop new skills and knowledge.
To qualify for the 12 Month Internship / Learnership Programmes applicants must:
- Have completed a National Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree or Honours Degree or Master’s Degree at a South African University; and
- Be an unemployed South African citizen
The National Energy Regulator of South Africa wishes to recruit Interns and or Learners with appropriate competencies in the following areas:

|Information Technology (Internship)
|Electricity Pricing and Tariffs (Internship / Learnership)
|Electricity Licensing and Compliance (Internship / Learnership Programme)
|Electricity Infrastructure Planning (Internship / Learnership)
|Finance Management and Governance (Internship)
|Supply Chain Management, Facilities & Projects (Internship / Learnership)
|Gas Licensing, Compliance and Dispute Resolution (Internship)
|Gas Pricing and Tariffs (Internship / Learnership)
|Human Resources Management (Internship)
|Internal Audit (Internship)
|Regulatory Analysis and Research (Internship)
