The National Health laboratory Service (NHLS) is offering an exciting opportunity for you to take part in a 2-year fixed-term Phlebotomy learnership programme commencing 1 November 2012.

Successful applicants will undertake classroom-based theoretical training in the Johannesburg and Tshwane regions for the first six months. Thereafter, learners will be working at NHLS laboratories in the Gauteng region in order to gain practical experience and workplace exposure. No accommodation or transport will be provided. A monthly stipend will be offered to the successful learners. Learners will be required to collect and prepare blood and other samples for pathology testing.

Key competency requirements: ♦ Grade 12 certificate with English, Mathematics/Maths literacy and Biology/life Sciences South African citizenship.  Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) Strong customer orientation.
