The successful candidate will inspect import and export containers, ensuring that reefer containers are functional, loading and off-loading rail trucks in accordance with prescribed loading patterns, updating database, ensuring correct placement of containers and scrutinizing, completion and disposal of documents as well as supervise allocated staff.

  • Physically fit
  • Be prepared to work shifts
  • Be prepared to undergo cargo coordinator training and successfully complete all modules
  • Be willing to work overtime and on paid public holidays

Key Performance Areas

  • Supervise and perform operational working procedures as planned or deviate to achieve dsired handling rates
  • Inform and instruct staff of work procedures and requirements in order to achieve operational requirements
  • Apply discipline and grievance to have a disciplined workforce
  • Ensure safe handling and working in allocated area in order to promote a safe working environment
  • Identify shortcomings of operational staff in allocated area in order to encourage a completent workforce
  • Motivate staff to achieve productivity norms
  • Inspection of containers to identify damages in order to avoid claims
  • Monitor temperatures and set points of Reefers so that discrepancies can be reported to technicians
