Specification
Volunteers will be based at the SANSA Science Centre in Hermanus\
Three positions for individuals aged 18-35 are available
This is a one year contract position (1 September 2020 – 31 August 2021)
Stipends paid to volunteers per month are as follows:
- National Diploma NQF Level 6 (R 4 500),
- Bachelor’s Degree / B.Tech NQF Level 7 (R 5 000),
- Honours NQF Level 8 (R 5 500),
- Master’s NQF Level 9 (R 6 500),
- PhD NQF Level 10 (R 7 700)
The volunteers will be required to:
- Assist with School Science Support programmes
- Contribute to the development of science education material
- Organize and facilitate science and technology awareness events
Requirements
- A Science Degree or an Engineering qualification with Physics and Mathematics as one of your subjects
- 1 year teaching / tutoring experience
- Good communication skills
All travel and relocation costs will be at the candidates’ own expenses.
Interested youth, who meet the qualifications, are invited to submit a covering letter indicating why they want to volunteer. Candidates should also include curriculum vitae, certified copies of ID and qualifications, and all their contact details.
Communication will only be conducted with short-listed candidates. If applicants have not heard from us within 4 weeks of the closing date, they must assume that their applications were unsuccessful.
